About
Made by one person, in Ireland.
Notchbird is made by Donncha O'Toole, an independent developer in Ireland. There is no company behind it, no investors and no team: one person builds it, answers the email and ships the updates.
Why it exists
Notchbird started life as Halo, a tool built for a setup with several Claude Code and Codex sessions running at once, some on a Mac and some on Linux machines down an SSH connection. The hard part was never the agents. It was noticing, at the right moment, that one of them had finished or was waiting for an answer.
The notch turned out to be the right place for that: always in view, out of the way, and empty. Notchbird keeps it quiet while agents work and lights it up only when one needs you.
How it is run
- Payments go through Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, so VAT and sales tax are handled properly wherever you live.
- Every build passes a strict local gate: strict compiler checks, tests, render fixtures and the performance budgets.
- Your data stays on your Mac. The privacy policy lists the few things that leave it.
- If Notchbird ever stops, a final licence-free build will be published. The trust page explains.
